Contract made this fifth day of January in the year one thousand nine hundred and twenty nine between the AVIATION BUREAU OF CANTON, CHINA (hereinafter called the Purchaser) and BOYD & CO of Hongkong and Amoy, China (hereinafter called the Seller) whereby it is agreed that....

(1) The Seller agrees to sell to the Purchaser and the

purchaser agrees to accept delivery from the Seller

of TEN AVRO AVIAN LANDPLANES of the latest model, com- plete with new CIRRUS engine and the following ins- truments and equipment ... Two airspeed indicators..

Two Oil Pressure Gauges., One Revolution indicator., One Altimeter., a special kit of Tools., Anchorage Rings for tying down, and one set of waterproof Covers for cockpits, engine and propeller.

The order also includes TEN NEW CIRRUS MARK III

ENGINES 85/ Horse Power., of the same type and patter

as those supplied with the complete machines.

These complete machines and extra engines are guaranteed to be absolutely NEW, and the quality of the worman-

ship and the materials used will be up to the standards

required by the BRITISH AIR MINISTRY.

Certification

to this effect will be supplied by the Seller.

Should the cargo be found to be "second-hand" or

used before-hand for other than normal testing purpo-

ses, the Seller agrees to replace all used parts and,

in addition, to refund to the Purchasor and amount

equal to ten per cent of the whole amount.

Shipment of the first four machines and four extra

engines will be made immediately after the order has

been placed, and credit established at the bank. Balance

of the order will be shipped three machines complete

and three extra engines two weeks after the first
